Why is the diode in this direction (PWM board)?

Hi folks,

Isn’t this diode (orange square below) upside down so that the current from the 24V voltage can go through the MOSFET?

Or the current from the OUT_0 will go to 24V??

Though this post is not directly related to the operation itself, I want to figure these out (I have reached the limit of thinking alone…).

This is a flyback diode that helps protect the transistor from any inductive load.
