Experiments will not run at set temperatures

Greetings all.
We have just set up our evolver and I am trying to do some testing. I set up experiments with either all vials at 37 C or 25 C and the evolver will only run at 30 C. The experimental parameters are showing correct in the evolver_parameters file and when I look at the experiment in GUI.

I am hoping that this is one of those cases where the newbie (me) has simply forgot to hit the super obvious button that makes everything work smoothly. Any help, guidance or well though out taunts (if you’re feeling the need) would be appreciated.

Hi. To change the temperature you would need to:

  1. Select the vials you want to change the temperature for
  2. Move the slider to the desired temperature
  3. Push the Button that displays the temperature.
  4. There should be a line on the command log when the command gets sent to the Pi.

Thanks for the very quick reply. I have set them in groups, individually or in blocks but it just goes back to 30 C. Even if I try to run it directly from the evolver it stays at 30C.

Does it work when you set the temperature in the setup screen? You are currently in the experiment GUI.

It doesnt seem to make a difference where I set the temperature from. If i do it from setup or directly on the evolver unit it still goes back to 30 C. It can definitely run at other temps because it did the temp calibration just fine.

Even if i go into setup and change temp while the experiment is running it will spike up and then go back to 30 (experiment itself was supposed to be running at 37)

Try starting an experiment from the command line and see if you still have this issue:

Set your tempreature before the expt and, on the script, modify the desired temperature here:

We are currently running an experiment for the rest of the week that works at 30 C. As soon as it is finished I will test out the command line and report back.
