Hi everyone,
Instead of nylon PA-12 to print these 5-port vial caps ([hardware/Smart Sleeve/vial_cap/5_and_7_port_nylon_tube/vial_cap_5ports+sample.STL at master · FYNCH-BIO/hardware · GitHub]), is it OK to use ABS as material? Is this autoclavable and resistant to bleach/ethanol/Virkon? Anyone who can give recommendations?
Cheers,
Kevin
No ABS is definitely not autoclavable. Generally any material printed with FDM (Fused filament fabrication - Wikipedia) won’t be autoclavable due to the low glass-transition temperature for most materials used in this process.
If you want to use a service that you can 3D print Nylon 12 caps via SLS (selective laser sintering), we have had good luck with https://craftcloud3d.com/
Hope this helps!
